SPICY LAMB PIZZA TOPPING

A spicy lamb topping with a Turkish influence similar to the "lahmacun"

Topping for 1 ready made pizza base. Double up for a Rectangular Pizza Dough

Spicy Lamb Pizza

Topping

1 tbsp olive oil

1 onion, chopped

1 cloves garlic, crushed

250g (1/2lb) minced lamb

Salt and black pepper

1/2 tsp ground cumin

1/2 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp curry powder

1/4tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp turmeric

2 tbsp tomato paste

 

Garnish

¼ cup tahini

½ lemon, juiced

50g (2oz) pine nuts, toasted

2 tbsp chopped flat-leaf parsley

  • Mix all the topping ingredients and saute in a pan with the oil. Drain.

  • Pour mince mixture on top the pizza base.

Baking

Follow direction of packaging for the ready made pizza base.

  • When pizza is out of the oven, mix tahini and lemon juice and season. Drizzle pizzas with tahini mixture, and then scatter with pine nuts and parsley.
