WHAT GOES WITH LAMB SHANK

A Tabbouleh Salad as a Starter. 

A Main Course with Lamb Shank, Roast Potatoes and Baked Zucchini as Side-Dish.

A Chocolate Nut Crust Tart for Dessert

The Tabbouleh Salad is great on its own as it has wheat and vegetables together. Prepare it in advance and dress it 15 min before serving it to give time for the salad to absorb all the flavours.

The Lamb Shank or Greek Kleftiko is one of those magical dishes. The one secret is to let the lamb cook in the oven for at least 3 hours. Only do it if you know you will have the time to do it as any short cuts will not work.

The Roast Potatoes can be placed in the oven with the Lamb Shank, one hour before the shanks are ready.

The Zucchini can be cooked in advance and you can freeze it. Don't bake it before freezing. Defrost in advance. Place in the oven at the same time than the Roast Potatoes.

A very healthy Nut Crust Chocolate Tart that can be baked a day before to finish this amazing dinner.

A dinner with no option of short cuts. Be prepared to be around for many hour, most of the time just smelling the Shanks roasting in the oven. Taking the main dishes out of the oven should not take you too long and can take them straight to the table.
