PLAIN WHITE RICE

Serves 6 to 8

PLAIN WHITE RICE

2 cup rice (long grain - par boiled)

4 cups water

1 tsp salt

1 tbs sunflower oil

  • Pour the water in a casserole with lid on a hot plate

  • Add salt and oil.

  • Boil the liquid.

  • Add the rice, steer with a wooden spoon. Simultaneously cover rice and turn heat down to medium/low. 

  • Simmer for 40 min. ( do not stir in between)

  • Rice is ready when all the liquid has evaporated. Can keep hot on top of hot tray or on very low heat.

* To reheat rice, sprinkle some water and microwave on high for 1 min per portion.
