HONEY AND CINNAMON CAKE

An exotic cake, not too sweet, stand on its own and perfect to have with Turkish coffee to end up a meal but surprisingly enough, enjoyed by children and a great stand by to have around. Easy to make and delicious, eat it plain or decorate it with cream

HONEY AND CINNAMON CAKE

3 eggs

1 cup castor sugar

½ cup orange juice

½ cup oil

½ cup milk

2 tbsp honey

1 tsp vanilla essence

2 cups flour

2 tsp baking powder

1½ tsp ground cinnamon

¼ tsp ground cloves

Sesame seeds to decorate.

  • Spay Pyrex about 24 cm square (10" square)  with non-stick cooking spray

  • Beat eggs and sugar in food mixer until thick and creamy.

  • Mix juice, oil, milk, honey and vanilla in measuring jug and pour over eggs

  • Mix flour with spices and fold in sifted flour with spoon.  Than mix.

  • Pour mixture into prepared Pyrex, sprinkle with sesame seeds.

  • Bake in oven 160°C (325°F) for 30 min.

  • Cut into squares of about 4 cm (1.5")
